Champ Resources

University of Berne, KL Lab

Champ has been developed in close collaboration with Prof. Aegidius Pluess of the University of Berne, Switzerland. He is in charge of the Computer Science education for secondary-level teachers in the Canton of Berne.

Champ is used in the teacher's education department for teaching and projects. Their Champ Home Page has two very useful files available for downloading:

  • An introduction to Champ and object-oriented programming in 30 lessons, written by Prof. Aegidius Pluess, in the form of a teacher's script, but also usable for self-study.

  • A student's script for an introductory course in C++ programming using Champ, written by Peter Zingg of the MNG Bern-Neufeld school, in German.

Considerable effort has been spent on both of these documents and they can be used for free – thank you!

The KL Lab Home Page has pointers to a number of programs written with Champ (physics simulations and others).
